AI Ain't Hard

They sold you prompts. Nobody sold you the setup. Fourteen short chapters on actually using an AI tool - not a list of things to type at it, the part underneath that nobody explains. Every price and every claim in it is checked and dated, same as everything else we write.

Stop Retyping the AI

AI models cannot natively export clean formatting into Word or Google Docs, so people retype or reformat by hand — headings, bullets, tables, all of it. This is how to get clean, formatted text out of a chat window and into a document without the cleanup.

More in this line is being rewritten before it goes on sale. Rather than publish figures we have not traced back to a source, they are held until every number in them has one.

Questions people ask

How do I paste ChatGPT into Google Docs without losing the formatting?

On a computer, open Google Docs, go to Tools, then Preferences, and tick "Enable Markdown." Then right-click where you want the text and choose "Paste from Markdown." Headings and bold should come through as real formatting - check it the first time. The free guide above walks you through it.

Why does AI text show up full of stars and hash marks?

The AI marks formatting with a shorthand called Markdown - two stars for bold, a hash mark for a heading. Some programs turn that into real formatting. Word, most email and plain website boxes usually don't, so you see the symbols. A chat window can't see where you're going to paste, so it guesses.

How do I get AI text into Word without the symbols?

Word on Windows and Mac has no Markdown setting, and Word in a web browser only converts some of it. The simplest fix is to tell the AI before it writes: plain text only, no stars, no hash marks. The free guide has the exact words to paste in.

Is Stop Retyping the AI really free?

Yes. It's a 24-page PDF. No email and no sign-up. Download it or print it.
