The Gray Age

The Gray Age

The decisions and paperwork of later life, in plain English — whether it is yours or your parents’.

Nobody trains for this. It usually starts with a fall, a phone call, a form or a diagnosis, and within a week there are deadlines and decisions nobody ever explained.

These guides cover the parts families actually get stuck on. Each one is set in 16-point type — larger than an ordinary paperback, deliberately, because you may be reading it tired, in bad light, without your glasses. Each works two ways: print it and write on the lines with a pen, or type onto the same lines on a phone or laptop. Every figure carries the year it applies to, and every claim names the body that published it.

They are general information, not advice about your own situation, and they say so.
